Andrew Shaw

Andrew Shaw is the only foreigner to be accepted as a master jade carver in China. He gave up his job as a BBC journalist to pursue his dream to learn to carve jade. After spending two years learning his craft from Chinese masters in Suzhou, he opened his own workshop and gallery and soon began winning gold medals in national and international competitions. He is now an internationally recognized jade artist who sells his work in Europe, Asia and North America. In 2019 he published Jade Life, a book about his experiences in the world of Chinese jade carving.
